The National Hero I Respect

 The National Hero I Respect

The national hero I really respect is Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala. He was born on 17th September 1864. His father was Don Carolis Hewavitharana and his mother was Mallika Dharmagunawardhna. They were wealthy merchants at that time. He did a great service to revive Buddhism. He fought with Indians to get back the Mahabodhi temple and the place site of Buddha's passing away. He became successful and we are able to visit those places and worship them due to his efforts. He also supported the independence movement in 20th years century. He discouraged the eating of meat , specially beef. He devoted his life to making our nation a civilized and a cultured one.
